What I think about the ratings system

So. This is my first post under my newest blog, which is about movies.

I watched a DVD last night with Kirby Dick about the unfairness of the film ratings system. I must wholeheartedly agree. The movie was This Film is not yet Rated.

There needs to be a much stronger level of consistency with ratings. For some examples, and I always provide examples in my writing, I think that it is absolutely necessary to have some guidelines in rating criteria.

I agree that Sin City should have been considered an NC-17 as the parts of it I have seen were pretty disturbing. Too disturbing for an R, which is what it got.

But of course, TFINYR was criticized for its references to, of course, NC-17 and essentially unrated movies such as American Psycho, Eyes Wide Shut, and others.

Just an opinion here, but I do wish the censorship would not be so forceful. This way, we freedom-loving Americans could buy into the freedom of watching whatever we wanted.
